i had an animated discussion with an old friend about a contemporary wedding liturgy that was recently developed by an svd priest. the said ceremony focuses only on the marriage vows which gives an illusion that the mass is not "complete".

i was tempted to avail of such unique way in the exchange of marriage vows. however, i feared that majority of our expected guests aren't quite sophisticated to comprehend such a radical ceremony.

in the end, we settled for the standard format of the wedding liturgy. we were not also able to chose the usual "wedding readings" like corinthians 13 since our wedding date falls on a holy day of obligation - the feast of the immaculate conception.
